Parents’ Day Out is a ministry of Colonial Hills Church. Our purpose is to minister to parents with preschoolers and to provide quality care with adult supervision while parents take care of their needs. Your child’s needs are met by allowing him/her the opportunity to meet, play, and interact with other children at or near the same age. Children will be taught Bible stories and how to share and follow directions. They will also have opportunities to develop their motor skills and early learning activities. While school structure is not our priority, we do follow a routine of activities most days. This can assist in preparing your child for more structure when he/she attends preschool or kindergarten. It is our intention to provide safe, quality, and consistent childcare for those who desire part-time care.
Each class uses age appropriate curriculum, as well as weekly themes to help grow and learn. Weekly music and Bible classes are offered for two years old and up, along with outside resources like Ag in the Classroom, community helpers, etc. Our Threes and Fours classes will be given a preschool assessment throughout the year to help track growth and allow teachers to see what areas need more focus. These assessments are available to parents.
Babies + Cruisers
Our Babies + Cruisers classes will follow age appropriate developmental milestones, like social and motor skills, to grow throughout the year.
Ones + Toddlers
Our Ones + Toddlers classes will build their vocabulary through books, toys, and hands on learning. They will start learning basic skills like shapes, colors, and daily objects that they interact with.
Twos
Our Twos classes continue to build social and motor skills through books, play, and hands on learning, as well as participating in weekly music and Bible lessons.
Threes
The Threes classes will start to learn more preschool structure to get them ready for higher learning. While social and motor skills will be a high priority, we also look for letter and number recognition, Bible verse memorization, and following directions.
Fours
The Fours class will see more focus on preschool curriculum as they prepare to move into elementary school. Identification for letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and beginning writing concepts will be the main points of interest. With continued focus on social and emotional development, language development and communication, as well as different approaches of learning based on the child’s need.
